What the Texas Payday Law Covers
The Texas Payday Law covers unpaid wages, agreed fringe benefits, earned commissions, and severance pay due under written agreements. Independent contractors are not covered.
Filing Procedure
Claimants submit a Wage Claim Form (TWC Form WH-1) online or by mail. A Labor Law Investigator issues a Preliminary Wage Determination Order (PWDO), which either party may appeal within 14 days.
